Dietitian: THE Nutrition Expert

The title Nutritionist is not regulated. The title Registered Dietitian is reserved for those who have completed a four year degree (bachelors degree) in field of nutrition, food science and dietetics, has completed a 6-12 month practice program approved by the Commission of Accreditation for Dietetics Education via the American Dietetics Association and has passed a national exam. Continuing education is required. Licensure is mandated in many states to ensure public safety in the field of nutrition.
